Vanguard International Completed Qualifying Attopsemi’s OTP in several CMOS nodes

Hsinchu, Taiwan – December 4, 2016

Attopsemi proudly announces that Vanguard International Semiconductor (VIS) Corporation has completed qualifying Attopsemi’s proprietary OTP IPs in several of their process nodes under unprecedented high temperature. Attopsemi’s fuse-based OTP, I-fuse™, has small size, low voltage, low power, high reliability, and wide temperature capabilities to enable Vanguard’s wafers in industry, communication, automotive, and IoT applications.

The first I-fuse™ IP qualified at VIS was in 0.16um HV process that was announced on March 31, 2015 to pass High Temperature Storage (HTS) at 300°C for 3,000 hours. The same wafer was continued stressed with 300°C for up to 4,290 hours without any failure bits in more than 3 millions fuses. Subsequently, I-fuse™ in several nodes were qualified under industry ISO standard procedures as:

  • 0.16um HV: 3 lots of HTOL at 150°C and 3 lots of HTS at 300°C for 1000 hours.
  • 0.18um logic and mixed-signal: 3 lots of HTOL at 150°C and 3 lots of HTS at 250oC for 1000 hours.
  • 0.15um BCD: 3 lots of HTOL at 150°C and 3 lots of HTS at 250°C for 1000 hours.
  • 0.15um HV: 3 lots of HTOL at 150°C and 3 lots of HTS at 250°C for 1000 hours.

“We sincerely appreciate our collaboration with Vanguard to provide the best possible OTP solutions for the semiconductor industry,” said Shine Chung, Chairman of Attopsemi. “After many years of innovation and hard work to perfect our proprietary I-fuse™ technology, they have finally been qualified in Vanguard International’s fabs and manufactured in Vanguard and other prominent silicon foundries. We proved that I-fuse™ can provide high reliability, wide temperature, smaller cell size using a fraction of program current than the ubiquitous electrical fuse. Unlike other OTP solutions, our I-fuse™ OTP follows standard logic design and test flows that can be easily integrated into SoC design flows. With our proven OTP IPs, we expect to bring substantial benefits to Vanguard and the semiconductor community.”

“We are pleased that Attopsemi’s OTP IPs are very competitive when we compare with other OTP technologies in the market to meet our business objectives,” said Jeffrey Lin, Director of Design Service Engineering at Vanguard, “Attopsemi will be one of VIS’s IP partners to provide OTPs for all process technologies Vanguard offers to our customers, especially in the grade 0 automotive applications that need 175°C. This new OTP solution provides customers extended temperature coverage, particularly in high endurance automotive applications.”
